Imeem? mp3s?

Monday, July 9th, 2007

Does anyone here use http://www.imeem.com ? If you do, and you have bought our material (this would be Shortwave Dahlia OR The Jeta Grove) upload it. Every time our music is streamed there we will earn a share of their advertising income.

Also, if you have not already picked up our music, you can buy mp3s at our MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/shortwavedahlia

) or at AmieStreet (http://amiestreet.com/shortwavedahlia).

Shortwave Dahlia Website Updated

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

We’ve added a fan review of the EP2007 by the lovely ethyl_aldehyde over at the Official Shortwave Dahlia Site. Click on the “Press” link in the menu to read this excellent write up!! Also, we’ll be adding more features to the website in the very near future. Stop by regularly to see the new stuff or peruse the library of music you may have missed REMINDER! Shortwave Dahlia will be performing at The Buccaneer in Memphis on May 19th, along with Antique Curtains and a possible third band, TBA. If you’re going to be anywhere near the Memphis area, we highly recommend making a trip to see the Shortwave Dahlia boys in action! And to sweeten the pot…there’s a rumor of NEW MATERIAL being performed. Keep watching this comm for more updates as the concert gets closer. As always, you can also check out the Shortwave Dahlia My Space for sound samples and interaction with the band. Also, if you have any burning questions for the band: Meanings or inspirations for Lyrics? Technical music questions? Wardrobe advice? E-mail me at heidi@shortwavedahlia.org and I’ll post your questions and the band’s answers here on Friday’s roundup post.

last.fm - help Shortwave Dahlia

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007
I find myself spending more and more time lately paying attention to a wonderful site called last.fm, where you can track and share your music listening habits with others. I’ve also set up Illuminated and the 2007EP so that if people listen to them, it will track correctly.

Here’s where you come in (of course). If you’re not already a user, go sign up. It’s really sharp, you can find out about other artists (through the tastes of the friends you make there) and sometimes even download free music. We’d love to show the magnitude of our music’s following, and you fine people are who we depend on to be as loud as possible about it.

Oh, and friend me…the username is (of course) shortwavedahlia.

See ya,
Jack

AmieStreet and Shortwave D to download…

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

Well, we need your help. If you haven’t already picked up the 2007EP this is a great way to do it.

The premise of this site? You put your music up there and, initially, it’s free to download. People buy credits to spend at the site and download your music, and as they buy it and make recommendations to others, the song goes up in value (up to $.99, which I think is within reason).

In other words, go join the site, download the songs, and make ‘em worth somethin’! I think the people who get in on this early get a damn good deal.

Shortwave Dahlia Downloads Available

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Per Jack:

“If you’re more into just having the mp3 files, we’ve opened a digital store on the MySpace profile (http://www.myspace.com/shortwavedahlia where you can buy the songs individually for $.99/song OR the whole EP for $5.00.

The store is powered by SNOCAP, the new venture of Shawn “Napster” Fanning. Isn’t Fanning his last name? I think so. Anyway, it’s awesome.”

You can still order the EP if you want an actual copy with artwork by sending $6.25 (that’s $5.00 for the cd and $1.25 for shipping Media Mail) via Paypal to shortwavedahlia@yahoo.com.

The EP is FANTASTIC and we all highly recommend a copy for you, your family and pets!

BTW: IF you’re in the Memphis area this weekend, don’t forget the Shortwave Dahlia show Tomorrow Night (March 24th) at Neil’s, which is at the intersection of Madison and McLean in Midtown Memphis. The show starts at 9:00 PM with a $3 cover.
Opening bands are Two Way Radio and Holly Cole, so come early to support these great bands!

Shortwave Dahlia Linkage

Thursday, January 4th, 2007
It’s dawned on me that perhaps I should post links to the other Shortwave Dahlia resources on the ‘Net. As things are soon to get very busy and exciting, you may get some mileage out of visiting or using these sites:

Our MySpace page is probably the best way to hear brand new stuff:
http://www.myspace.com/shortwavedahlia
The Yahoo! Group is a good news source for those of us who can’t keep the ‘Net up all the time (and enjoy discussions):
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shortwave_dahlia

Lastly, and since I’ll probably post this on those pages, here’s an obligatory link to the LiveJournal community:
http://community.livejournal.com/shortwave_d

Enjoy!
