Shortwave Dahlia was once proclaimed by one admirer to be The Band Least Likely To Come From Memphis. This quartet encompasses a variety of different styles, but binds them with a DIY ethic that gives their sound an impressive and memorable edge. Strong lyrics, wrapped in atmospheric melodies and infectious rhythms, give their songs a unique sound that alternately evokes trance, synth-pop and rock. Wearing their diverse influences on their sleeves without succumbing to imitation, Shortwave Dahlia brings a new sound to the Memphis music scene. Live, the band displays high energy and an even higher level of musicianship that is not to be missed.

2005 saw the release of three digital singles and a full-length album, Illuminated. The group released another digital single in 2006, expanded from a duo to a trio, and in November of that year, had their first performance. 2007 has seen the release of a well-received EP, more live performances, and a fourth member. The band is working on their second album.
